When you minimize Lync application, Lync will minimize to task bar. But we can change this behavior to minimize to notification area instead of minimize to task bar to get more space on task bar. This article explains how to do it.
This article applies to:
- Microsoft Lync 2010
- Microsoft Lync 2013
Step 1. Open Microsoft Lync application.
Step 2. Click on Settings icon (don’t click on the down arrow besides on Settings icon). Lync will display “Lync – Options” dialog.
Step 3. From “Lync – Options” dialog, select General item from left-side pane. Lync will display general settings in right side pane.
Step 4. From right-side pane, select “Minimize to the notification area instead of the task bar” check box which is under “Application window” group.
Step 5. Click on OK button to apply the changes.
Now whenever you close or minimize Lync application window; Lync will minimize to notification area, not into task bar.
