Windows 7 – How to open “Local Area Connection Properties” dialog?

Windows allows us to change the local area connection settings through the “Local Area Connection Properties” dialog. Through this article, we are going to discuss the steps to open the “Local Area Connection Properties” dialog.

Step (1). Right-click on the network icon from the System tray. It will display a pop-up menu.

Step (2). From the pop-up menu, select Open Network and Sharing Center menu item. Windows will display Network and Sharing Center window.

Or, you can type “ncpa.cpl” from the Run window to open the network and sharing center window.

Step (3). Under View your active networks section, click on the Local Area Connection link. Windows will display the dialog, where we can see the status of our local area network connection.

Step (4). From the “Local Area Connection Status” dialog, click on the Properties button. Windows will display the “Local Area Connection Properties” dialog; where we can see local area connection settings.
