The following steps explain how to resolve “Validating Identity” error on Wireless Networks in Windows XP.
Step 1. Double click on Wireless Network Connections icon from System Tray. It will open Wireless Network Connection Status window.
Step 2. Click on Properties button. It will open Wireless Network Connection Properties window.
Step 3. Select Wireless Networks tab.
Step 4. Select the network which has the problem from the Preferred Networks list. And click on Properties window. It will open selected network’s properties window.
Step 5. Select appropriate values in Network Authentication & Data encryption fields under Wireless network key group. And un-check The key is provided for me automatically checkbox. Once you un-check this checkbox, Network key & Confirm network key fields get enabled.
Step 6. Enter the values for Network key & Confirm network key and click on OK. Again click on OK, from Wireless Network Connection Properties window.
Now you can able to access the network.
