How to know the running process which is taking more memory?

Some times you will notice that your system will respond slowly to when started using. There might be some reasons for responding it slowly; but, one of the common reason is, some of the processes running on your System are taking more memory usage or more process usage. Following steps will show you how to figure out the process which is using more memory.

This article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows Operating System(s)

Step (1). Open Task Manager window. You can right click on the Windows Task bar and select “Start Task Manager” option from the pop-up menu.

Step (2). Click on theĀ Processes tab. It will display all the running processes in the window.

Step (3). Click on “Mem Usage” header to sort the memory usage. This will sort out the list of processes, currently running; based on the memory usage.

Step (4). Look for the process which is using more memory.

Close the Windows Task Manager window, once you figure out the process which is using more memory.
