Blend – Show or hide Welcome screen at Blend start-up

The welcome screen in the Blend application is useful to quickly create the projects and quickly access the recent projects developed using the Blend application. If you disable to open welcome screen at Blend application start-up; the welcome screen will not appear whenever you open the application.

This article explains how to enable or disable the Welcome screen at a start-up.

This article applies to:

  • Microsoft Blend for Visual Studio 2012

Step 1. Open Microsoft Blend for Visual Studio application.

Step 2. If the Welcome screen is enabled to show, Blend will display the Welcome screen.

Step 3. If the Welcome screen is not displayed, click on the Help menu item. Blend will display a pull-down menu.

Step 4. From the pull-down menu, click on the Welcome screen to display the “Welcome screen”.

Step 5.  Check the check-box Run at startup to show the “Welcome screen” at Blend application start-up.

If you don’t want to show the “Welcome screen” at application start-up, un-check the Run at startup check box.

Remember that these changes will affect when you re-open the Blend application.
